 I called about a quick appointment one afternoon, and they could fit me in for a cut and color. 8 weeks later you can't hardly see the grow-out line, and my cut still has the same shape, just about 2" longer. At first, she didn't like the tone of the color, so she put a wash over it to chill it out a bit. Stylists really listen to your concerns and wants about a cut, too.
Salon uses Aveda products, allowing colors to look natural and not be harmful to your hair.
My whole appointment ended up taking three hours - all blissful. I felt well taken care of, and my cut alone took an hour. Heading back here as soon as possible.
I have been to this salon and the one in Northgate - always a professional staff, and a great style.

I've been seeing Hannah at Wild Root for about 5 years now. There's simply no one else I would trust to tidy up my curls and make them look amazing. She always does a perfect job. Plus she's wonderful to chat with... or not: she's great about picking up on my mood.
Another nice perk: I use 100% sulfate- and paraben-free products on my hair (it's a curly-hair thing...keeps the frizzies away!) and Aveda doesn't have products which suit this need. Well, Hannah is totally chill when I remember to bring my own shampoo and conditioner!
I'd follow her just about anywhere. For real.

I escaped into a blissful hour-long full body massage and simultaneous facial with Christina at the Maple Leaf location on Saturday that left my skin super soft and glowing, and my body and mind completely relaxed.
An Aveda salon (love their products), the atmosphere is bohemian and cozy, while still feeling very professional. I typically splurge on massages at Habitude in Ballard, but when I heard this place was less than half the price, I figured it was worth trying!
Christina did an amazing, thorough job, was truly interested in what my skin and body needed and made me feel completely comfortable. First time I've ever hugged my masseuse afterward!
I would highly recommend booking an appointment with her, try the 60-minute Face & Body Treatment.

CeCe i the best! My hair grows out really well. In general, I love how unpretentious and comfortable this salon is (though it is a little on the dark side in the reception and sink areas)

I have been getting my hair cuts and thermal straightening at Wild Root for six years now. I always leave with an amazing haircut. Not only does my hair look great when I walk out the door...I am still receiving compliments two months later on my "new haircut." I have sent many friends to Wild Root and will continue to recommend it to everyone I know.

I should start off by saying I usually decide to cut my hair on a whim and it's hard finding stylist who are available on such short notice. I have looked at this place before but for some reason or another decided to go to Curuh. No more. Curuh had no openings when I wanted and with who I wanted so I looked elsewhere.
I called the Wild Root salon up yesterday and got the nicest woman in the world trying to fit me in whenever she could. So so nice! We finally set a time and a day with a stylist, Lilly. She told me Lilly was new to the floor, but had been apprenticing there for a while. I decided to go for it. And I am so glad I did.
When I got there I was offered coffee, tea or water and then Lilly took me to her chair to discuss what I wanted done with my hair. I had decided I wanted to cut it and we discussed the color I wanted. And instead of telling me it wouldn't work in my hair she figured out how to make it work. She wasn't afraid to ask for people's help and I really appreciated that. The owner Donna (?) breezed in while we were discussing this and gave Lilly some pointers on what to do. She was so nice and friendly. I just loved everyone there! Lilly then went to work on my hair. After stripping some color, Donna came over and inspected it and gave it the green light. Donna left to go check on the Northgate Salon and when she got back we were working on the cut. (My hair took a really long time and Lilly was so patient.)
I didn't want much done with my hair. Just lightening it up a bit. When I've had my hair cut in the past they usually don't listen and I end up with much shorter hair than I was wanting. Not the case with Lilly. Towards the end Donna came over and worked on my hair a bit. Just little pieces. She told me about the complimentary bang trims and told me I should definitely utilize them.
I had such a great experience there. I will definitely be going back. I recommend Lilly if you go. She is so sweet. While she was doing my hair I kept thinking that even if she messed it up I wouldn't be too mad because of how nice she and everyone there was. Good thing that wasn't the case.

I'd been 4 years over due for my lash tint and although both close by, had no love for my last 2 service gals. (pushed color into my eyes, or didn't leave it on long enough, smirky attitude)
At 3:06pm on a Sat. I do a web search; come up with Wild Root Salon and call, they close at 4:00pm and I assume I'll get in 2 weeks from now. But what the heck- they are 5 minutes away).
Well, the receptionist says, "can you be here in 20 minutes?"
Hell yeah! I'm on my way!
I am greeted by a bustling warm salon and Dana escorts me to the W.R. (war, wax, warm,woman's room?) She picks my color, lays me down and gets to it. Now if you've never had your lashes tinted, you should know: no talking, smiling, laughing, smoking! One must lie still and uber relaxed while the color is applied and setting so as not to get stinging stuff in your eyes. Well Dana does this aromatherapy thing..."OK, breath deep"...pepper-minty relaxing at the temples and then a fabulous scalp massage!!! In the 20+ years I've been having my lashes tinted, NEVER before has anyone given me a relaxing scalp massage!!!
For this alone, I am SO going back! That's what I call attention to detail!!!
